Nashville's summer is temperamental, and the humidity is unpredictable. My attack plan during these heated months is simple. I have four staples I immediately grab almost every single day.

1. The quintessential denim shorts. I've had these Free People cut-offs for a few years, and they continue to be my absolute favorite. Soft and worn, eyelet pocket details, and a higher waist for easier styling.
2. Neutral sunnies are a must. Nashvillians tend to spend their summer days outside, braving the heat and enjoying the tiny bursts of cool breeze. Sunglasses are absolutely necessary, and my favorite pair of Ray-Bans have never let me down.
3. The most worthless version of a shirt I can find. When it comes to humidity, less is more. I tend to gravitate towards a barely-there lace top or a slinky t-shirt tank. Lightness is key, and the more holes, the better.
4. If possible, I'm not leaving the house without my fluffy sidekick. Bonny loves a neighborhood walk or a long run. Anytime I can bring her along for a car ride with the windows down, we're both happy campers. Word to the wise, always make sure your little pup is getting the water he or she needs. Nashville makes a point to leave a water bowl on most front porches...take advantage of the hospitality!
