Nashville Lifestyles: Food, Wine & Design
March 30, 2015
Last week, I had the opportunity to style a tabletop for Nashville Lifestyles Magazine's Third Annual Food, Wine & Design presented by J.M. Thomason Seasonings and Spices. A portion of the proceeds for this event benefitted Heifer International, a charity working with communities to end world hunger and poverty and to care for the Earth. Joined by Nashville's top fashion bloggers, this intimate, sold-out evening with 80 guests featured a one-of-a-kind, four-course dinner by Chef Brandon Frohne with wine pairings and a signature cocktail by Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey. Hosted at Mason's in the Loew's Vanderbilt Hotel, I was joined by some of the area's most stylish bloggers: Brenna Mader of Wanderlust and Glitter Dust, Kelly Henderson and April Bermudez of Velvet's Edge, Daniel Bear Hunley, and Cassie Kelly of Womanista. Each of us photographed our favorite look for the spring season and decorated a table for guests inspired by our style.
For my spring look, I combined a clean palette with Western touches. A dab of sex appeal with these strappy sandals, and it becomes my favorite go-to look for effortlessly chic with a unique nod towards Nashville. I was overjoyed to take this style to table. Thanks to the charitable people at Bloom, I layered white floral centerpieces throughout my rustic design for a feminine touch. The table wouldn't have been complete without them, and I'll forever be returning to Bloom for their sweet staff and fragrant little gifts off Belmont Boulevard. I gathered the tall white candles and lantern from my own home, but the rustic details were all thanks to the generous ladies at Castilleja. I popped my head into this home decor store in Edgehill the week before and was astounded by their open-handed welcome. I grabbed these wooden 3-D shapes for adding height to my table, but the antlers with modern macramé by Tied + Timber were the ultimate statement. Normally, they'd be hanging on a wall, but I used them as a pseudo-table runner. Thank you, Castilleja!
